SaskTel Centre to turn Orange and Blue

SaskTel Centre to turn Orange and Blue

Blazers Staff

Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League are excited to announce they will be moving to SaskTel Centre for their Home Games during the 2023-24 season. The reigning U18AAA Provincial Champions and National Bronze Medalists will open their season at home at SaskTel Centre on Tuesday, September 26th when they host the Tisdale Trojans.

It marks a return of sorts to SaskTel Centre as the Blazers played 5 playoff games there this past spring including a Provincial Championship clinching Game 5 vs the Regina Pat Canadiens in front of a boisterous home crowd.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Saskatoon Blazers to SaskTel Centre and look forward to providing them with a world-class venue for their games this season,” said Scott Ford, Executive Director for SaskTel Centre. “As one of the top teams in the Saskatchewan U18 AAA Hockey League, the  Blazers have a long-standing reputation for excellence both on and off the ice and we are confident that our team and venue will provide them with everything they need to continue to succeed. We are looking forward to seeing their fans at SaskTel Centre.”

The Blazers have established new franchise records in each of the past 3 full seasons for regular season wins and are looking to maintain that success as they move forward into their new digs.

Blazers General Manager Cole Shepherd feels that the move to SaskTel Centre will provide the Blazers with a great opportunity for growth. “SaskTel Centre was a strategic move to elevate our program and give our players a big league feel every time they step into the arena. The facilities are going to allow us to expand the program and give our fan base a more exciting game day experience.”

The Blazers join the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, the National Lacrosse League’s Saskatchewan Rush and the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League as tenants under the SaskTel Centre roof.
